The Alliance BioSecure Research Foundation, recognised as a public utility in December 2006, has the objective “to progress the analysis, understanding and management of public health risk related to current or emerging microbiological agents, in particular prions” (article 1 of the statutes)

This Public Health mission shall be fulfilled:

  • By promoting the discovery of technological solutions related to the detection, elimination and inactivation of these agents in biological products for therapeutic use, physical material used during their production, material used in clinical investigation, and products destined for consumption.
  • By, when possible, adding value to research results by developing new therapeutic approaches.
  • By organising staff training and informing the wider public of the biological risks, their management, and more particularly their consequences on society and public health.
