Appels d'offres - Call for 2008

The Fondation Alliance BioSecure ("Biosafety Alliance Foundation") is pleased to announce a Call for Grant Applications for research projects on biosafety related to prion diseases as well as diseases caused by other emerging pathogens.

Total amount granted: 450,000 euros

Scope

In line with the mission of the Foundation, priority will be given to projects related to protein misfolding diseases, especially prion diseases; however, projects addressing pathogens other than prions can be considered for funding if relevant to current public health risks.

Awarded projects for the funding year 2008 may address any aspect of the protein misfolding disease family including, but not limited to:

Grant applicants should be aware that the Foundation will make available its own research facility to the selected projects. The list of major equipment of the Foundation laboratories, available for use at a BSL-3 biosafety level (NeuroPrion Research Platform, Paris), includes in particular :

Total annual amount of grant money: 450,000 euros.

It is expected that most grants will be 1-year awards, but exceptionally, longer-term grants will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

European teams, as well as non-European ones, can apply. Collaborative projects are welcomed.

Application

A single Letter of Intent (see attached template) of the proposed project is requested, including estimation of its duration and cost.

Letters of intent will be evaluated by the Foundation Scientific Advisory Committee by June 15th, 2008.

If a project is selected for further evaluation, a full Grant application will then be requested by the Advisory Committee by July 15th 2008.
